National REDD+ system in the Philippines
The project supported the Philippine Government in developing a national system for reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+) based on environmental and social standards. To accomplish this, the project partners established national structures and processes for the coordination and implementation of REDD+ measures and developed mechanisms for REDD+ financing and benefit-sharing. In addition, they developed land-use plans for forests in selected regions as a requirement for zoning and issuing land-use rights and concepts for integrating environmental and social standards in the implementation of REDD+.
