Improving the energy efficiency of the global building supply chain industry and its products to deliver high performance buildings - preparation phase
The building sector and its supply chain have a significant impact on the environment, economy and society. To meet climate targets, the energy performance of buildings and their carbon and energy footprints need to be addressed. The project develops a strong foundation of proven best practice methods and focused technical capacity. A core element of the project is to engage with beneficiary countries to improve building energy performance and reduce embodied carbon and energy and develop their relevant public and private sector capacities. The project focuses specifically on improving the effectiveness of the building sector supply chain to improve the complete lifecycle performance of buildings. It addresses the embodied energy and carbon of buildings and ensures that buildings’ operational components are designed and installed to operate optimally.
