Seagrass Conservation in Indonesia: A Climate and Biodiversity Solution
The village of Tarabitan in North Sulawesi, Indonesia, is adapting to environmental challenges by developing homestays, seagrass monitoring programs, and spirulina farming. Supported by YAPEKA, this initiative empowers locals as guardians. Part of the Seagrass Ecosystem Services Project, this work connects biodiversity conservation with community resilience, funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) and led by the Dugong MOU under the Convention on Migratory Species.
