Global efforts to mitigate climate change are largely focused on energy. However, we also need to pay more attention to material efficiency. Around a quarter of global greenhouse gas emissions are attributed to material production with the construction industry as one of the key contributors (IRP 2020). This video shows a Good Practice Example from an Indonesian building and construction materials company to illustrate how material efficiency strategies can help to reduce carbon emissions.
