IKI Brown Bag Lunch: Women in the climate movement
Climate action and biodiversity conservation projects are more successful, sustainable and equitable if concrete action for gender justice is embedded in the goals and the implementation. During this event, three women engaged in different IKI projects share experiences of their daily work.
Cielo Mendoza is empowering women to contribute to more resilient communities, among others with ecosystem-based adaptation activities. Deliani Poetriayu Siregar shared experiences, how gender smart transport planning contributes to better public transport in cities. Sarah Akello talked about her grassroots organisation’s tree planting activities as an alternative income source as well as the benefits of local solutions.
