The global transition to renewable sources of energy is in full swing. That's good news for the climate! But renewables have many other positive effects – or “co-benefits”. These include local economic value creation and jobs, clean air, access to cheap energy, and rural development. Researchers involved in the international COBENEFITS project are working together with the German Environment Ministry and international partners to help our partner countries seize upon the opportunities of the global energy transition.

The COBENEFITS project is part of the International Climate Initiative (IKI). The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) supports this initiative on the basis of a decision adopted by the German Bundestag.
