Mitigation potentials for emissions of nitrous oxide from chemical industry in industrialised countries world-wide

The new study focuses on N2O emissions from nitric acid, adipic acid, and caprolactam production in industrialized countries. The total N2O emissions from chemical industry in such countries in 2020 were estimated at 47.4 Mt CO2e. The study highlights the lack of climate policies addressing N2O emissions in certain countries and also identifies significant mitigation potentials and opportunities for ambitious climate policy.
