The International Partnership on Mitigation and MRV has published an on-line course to support countries in their efforts to develop Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs).

Many governments around the world are in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in their countries and drive sustainable development processes. The NAMA E-learning course supports them for this reason. It is open to all; participants can start the course at any time and proceed at their own pace. The course consists of four modules that guide the participants step-by-step through the various phases of the NAMA process. The modules cover the key topics and provide relevant background information, dealing for example with Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) and financing.

Starting in the second quarter of 2015, an additional course will be offered with a tutor, who will be able to provide personal support to participants. More detailed information will be made available on our website in the coming months: mitigationpartnership.net (external)

The International Partnership on Mitigation and MRV was founded by South Africa, South Korea and Germany in 2010 during the Petersberg Climate Dialogue. The Partnership supports exchanges on emission reduction between developing and industrialised countries in order to promote international climate change mitigation activities. To date, approximately 70 countries have taken part in Partnership activities.

An International Climate Initiative (IKI) project is supporting the founding members in structuring the networking and exchange processes within the Partnership, while developing informational materials and instruments such as the NAMA E-learning course.

The course is run through Global Campus 21, GIZ's internet platform for learning and cooperation.
