The IKI project has launched a 'Blue Solutions' online platform for exchanging knowledge on marine and coastal protection.

How can we sustainably use our endangered marine and coastal resources and thereby conserve biological diversity and the natural basis for the economy and our livelihoods? The Blue Solutions project, supported by the International Climate Initiative (IKI), strives to answer these questions. To assist partner countries in implementing the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in marine and coastal habitats, the project is establishing a global network which participants can use to share information on concepts, instruments and lessons learned in this field, and to develop and test pilot measures.

A key element of the network is its newly launched online platform, which can be accessed at
www.bluesolutions.info (external).
