Timed to coincide with this year’s International Women’s Day, the International Climate Initiative (IKI) presented its new Gender Strategy during an online event in mid-March.

Around 190 participants from IKI projects worldwide attended the event, using the opportunity to discuss the next steps in the implementation of the strategy as part of the IKI’s work together with speakers at the event.

A video recording is available for anyone interested in learning more about the event, as well as a copy of the slide set and an FAQ document.

IKI Gender Strategy

The IKI first introduced its Gender Strategy as part of a high-level event during the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow in 2021

The Strategy constitutes the IKI’s contribution to the implementation of the UNFCCC and the CBD Gender Action Plan.

The aim is to promote gender-transformative approaches within international climate and biodiversity cooperation while ensuring that all new IKI projects include gender-responsive planning as a minimum standard.
