Global NDC Conference: “Dinner Cruise” with the IKI
The Global NDC Conference took place in Berlin from 31st May to 2nd June. The host of the event was the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), which funded the conference as part of the International Climate Initiative.
For three days, about 200 climate practitioners and decision makers from over 40 countries discussed how their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) can be better established and further developed with a high level of ambition.
In addition to panel discussions with high-profile speakers, event formats such as “Challenge buster & deep dives into initiatives”, “Fishbowls” and “Innovation Hubs” promised a multitude of opportunities for personal and hands-on exchange amongst the participants.
Networking on the Spree
The International Climate Initiative (IKI) was represented in particular in a very special evening event: At the “Dinner Cruise with NDC Conversation”, the participants had the opportunity to start conversations with representatives of the IKI department of the BMWK during a boat trip on the River Spree, enabling them to sound out what support options the funding programme offers for the implementation of the NDC:
