Revitalising hydro power for herb production in Java

Cinta Mekar Village, located in West Java, Indonesia, has participated in a Pro Poor – Public Private Partnership (5P) scheme since 2004. Due to a large flood, between 2019 and 2020, the micro hydropower plant - and thus the base for the village livelihoods - got destroyed. This project raises awareness of climate change and sustainable development by revitalising the reference model for renewable energy development. It rehabilitates the community-based micro-hydropower plant of Cinta Mekar. Through this, the project promotes sustainable electricity supply, sustainable management in an herb and spice cooperative, as well as climate-friendly land use
