Capacity Building and Sector Reform for Renewable Energy Investments in the Pacific
Increasing renewable energy capacity and reducing dependence upon diesel generation remain a challenge in the Pacific Small Island Development States (SIDS). The project assists in renewable energy scaling up to achieve 100 % of renewable energy penetration in the power supply system in targeted countries. Sovereign and non-sovereign operations will support in improving supply- and demand-side efficiency, introducing battery storage, building capacity, helping rationalize tariffs and enabling public–private partnerships. The project will catalyze a preparation of investment project and program, knowledge sharing and capacity enhancement, and introduction of advanced technologies.
